Description

Ann-Zofie Duvander is associate professor of Sociology and Demography. Her research interests include family policy, family dynamics as well as the family and work-connection. She is an expert on parental leave policies in Sweden, with a special focus on leave taken by fathers. In addition to studies of parental leave and child care effects on childbearing, she has conducted several studies of variation and change in parental leave usage and its effects. She has also been involved in comparative Nordic and international studies. Duvander is a member of the Social Policy and Family Dynamics in Europe, Stockholm University Linneaus Center (SPaDE) and the Stockholm University SIMSAM Node for Demographic Research (SUNDEM). She works parttime as a senior researcher at the Swedish Social Insurance Inspectorate. She serves as a board member of the Swedish Demographic Association and she is a member of the scientific board at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency as well as the Swedish representative of the International Network of Leave Policies & Research. Currently she leads the project Forerunners in family behavior and gender equality: New trends among young adults in Sweden funded by Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research.
