Description

In this project, in collaboration with the Swedish Museum of Natural History, we study secondary and upper secondary students’ learning in an activity designed for the school. This activity, developed by the museum educators, is designed like a workshop, where the students explore the exhibition in small groups. In the exhibition The Human Journey, the students can follow the major steps in human evolution, from the first upright forms in Africa to modern man, represented by models of early human ancestors. Using analysis of practical epistemologies we intend to study students’ meaning making in the interaction with the objects of the exhibition, interaction between the participants and with their previous experiences.
