Energy efficient office lighting has great potential. Trials needs considering employees' health, wellbeeing and productivity. At Karolinska Institutet, KI Innovation, LED-based lights are tested (30% energy reduction). The ceiling integrates light and sound absorbers optimizing light and audio conditions. Thirty emplyees are measured one week in winter using traditional flourescent tubes, one week in new lights, and a month later. Participants uses questionnaires, diaries, motionloggers/light meters and performance tests. Thirty people in adjoining rooms constitutes controls where only flourescent tubes are changed. The project studies how a LED solution affects energy savings, health, fatigue, mood and light appraisal.
