Metal-mediated organic synthesis is an important field of
organic chemistry. In a catalytic process, a metal is used in a
catalytic amount for the synthesis of organic target molecules. A huge
advantage of catalysis, compared to traditional organic synthesis is
that a sub-stoichiometric amount of a metal can be employed. Thus,
catalysis is an important component for a sustainable development and in
green chemistry.
The 9th Asian-European Symposium on Metal-Mediated
Efficient Organic Synthesis will be organized in Stockholm, 4 - 7
September 2016. This symposium brings together outstanding researchers
from Asia and Europe, covering a broad range of topics in catalysis and
metal-mediated reactions. About 20 invited speakers have accepted the
invitations, by now. The selected senior speakers will provide,
especially for young scientists and PhD students an access to broad
international expertise in this field. All participants are encouraged
to present a poster. The venue of the symposium is Aula Magna at
Stockholm University, and is an important event for the university as
well as for Sweden. About 150-200 participants are expected.

The following scientific themes will be covered: i) Homogeneous Catalysis; ii) Heterogeneous Catalysis; iii) Asymmetric catalytic transformations; iv) C-H activation reactions; v) Catalytic applications of first row transition metals; vi) Catalysis under continuous flow; vii) Application of catalysis in natural product synthesis.
