There is an increasing awareness among researchers at the frontier of management knowledge production that to achieve major breakthroughs in theory and practice in the 21st century it is imperative to go beyond Western-centric approach to theory building to seek inspirations from non-Western institutions, cultures and societies. China is home to one of the world´s earliest civilizations. China has a unique chance to inspire and enrich the world of management theory and practice with indigenous Chinese knowledge. The purpose of this workshop ´Management theory (re)building with inspirations from China´ is to invite world class management professors with a strong interest in China to come to Sweden to brainstorm and formulate how to advance management theory (re)building with inspirations from China (Chinese institution, culture, and philosophy) to produce robust management knowledge of global relevance.
