Description

The aim of the study is to compare the experiences and problems faced by young women who have honour related problems with those who do not. The study also aims to describe the social services childcare investigations concerning girls who live in an honour related environment with special regard to the recently introduced concept BBIC. BBIC is a new way to work with childcare investigations within the social services. The project involves three studies;

  • A comparative study of the social services childcare investigations regarding all the girls of 13-18 years who where about to be taken into state care (Compulsory Care of Young People Act (LVU) 1, 2 §§ och 1, 2, 3 §§) in 2008 in Stockholm, Västra Götaland and Skåne County.
  • A study of the use of the BBIC-model in the child care investigations concerning girls who live in an honour related environment.
  • A interview based study aiming to describe the social workers experience of investigations concerning girls who live in an honour related environment, with a special focus of the BBIC model.
